Minor items that would require three days for a qualified technician takes more than three months to get done. Unit still in shop.

They ruined my travel trailer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Original review updated Jul 26, 2024

I'm a widowed 60 year old disabled woman. I purchased my Jayco Jay Flight bungalow Destination trailer in Sept.

2023, I paid over $5000 for the elite extended warranty. I paid $995 for the "peace of mind" walk through. ( what a joke! ) At this walk they went over everything that they would repair before delivery and its been almost a year and NOTHING has been done to my camper yet!

I don't even have an awning on my trailer yet!!! My seals on here are black tape still! They took my trailer one time to do the repairs, that was in May 2024. They said they would need it for a couple days, I was so excited!

I live in it, that's why I bought the big destination trailer, I am not from FL so I had to find somewhere to stay, i had a freezer and refrigerator full of food, but they are only keeping it a few days so they can plug it in. I had made arrangements to stay with some friends for 4 days in case it took longer. The 2nd day i heard nothing the 3rd day nothing, so I called, they said they were waiting for a part from the manufacturer, so I knew I had to find somewhere else to stay because my friends were going back to MI until Nov. So I rented a hotel for a couple nights.

Now its May 14, I called on the 10th, its been 8 days, since it was taken to them, so I called them back to see if it was done, they told me they were waiting for a part still, I told them I was sleeping in my car now as my friends were no longer here and that's my home, they said there was nothing they could but wait, so I did start sleeping in my car. I had nowhere to shower, I had my dog, I didn't know what to do all day everyday because I didn't know anyone. I cried, I was homeless! I found a truck stop I could shower at, so every couple days I did so.

I could not continue paying for a hotel to stay at, it was to pricey, I live on SSDI. I called them back on the 18th still waiting they said, I was fine with my accommodations at the moment , #1 because they were waiting for a part and when on that came in my trailer would be done, I'd have an awning, I'd have seals, I'd have an oven, I'd have my microwave and every other thing, I was excited to have what I paid for finally so if I had to take a little bad to get it these things I was okay with that. #2 I couldn't spend the money on hotels because when I got it back I could start my new adventure and travel finally so I was just saving my money so I could travel. I cried a lot, asked my dead husband and myself if it was a big dumb mistake trusting Campers Inn that the repairs promised me at purchase was wrong?

I was starting to regret this and was getting a bad feeling in my Stomache! I gave them cash for everything, it was gone, I can't get it back and I feel like I'm getting a run around again. That was my life savings almost, i was starting to get scared. But they did have all the other parts there and I was sure they were fixing everything they could while waiting on the part from the manufacturer.

I thanked them over and over for finally doing what was promised to be done before delivery .after purchase. I told the service manager Clyde and the Service writer Christian I was so excited to just be able to sit under my awning because I've never been able to I haven't had one my trailer. There was the one they told me was no good still on there at delivery. They didn't replace it with a new one as they promised, they delivered it to me with an awning I couldn't use.

But one day it rained and the awning fell open from all the weight from the water, I couldn't bring it in, it was broke, (it was not suppose to still be on my unit!!)! It got so heavy it twisted the arms and starting ripping off the side of my unit and damaging itI I called my son who was here at this time visiting in Sept 2023 and he came quick and stopped it from continuing to twist and rip my unit and removed it. I had permission from campers Inn for him to remove the whole thing . It did damage my unit and put a few nice size holes in my unit!

So yes, I told them I was very excited that I finally would have what I bought and paid for. , My plans were to travel and find a nice area I liked that felt like home and stay there. After the death of my husband I can't find "home" its so hard to feel happy without him so I thought I'd try traveling, meet new people and find someplace I liked and purchase a home there. It was the hardest (and its worse now) time of my life, trying to be happy and live without my husband.

Campers Inn has taken that hope of traveling and finding "home" away from me. I can't travel until my home (trailer) repairs are made! So at the moment I was telling myself at least everything was fixed except for whatever part it was they were waiting on. I called them again on the 19th and the same story, waiting for part we'll call you.

Now Ive been sleeping in my car for abound a week and I'm disabled and I'm hurting very much, I'm crippling up, I can barely move my legs or arms, I'm hurting so bad I'm crying, its really hot, I haven't showered, I couldn't walk my dog, there was a couple of days I wasn't able to even get out of my car at all. I felt scared and very alone, my dog was patient , she knew I was hurting, I let her out without me and she went to the bathroom next to the car and just got back in, she never stepped away from my car, she knew I was hurting and couldn't move. I'm so disgusted with myself for buying anything from them by this point but what was there I could do, nothing, just wait it out thinking it will be repaired and ill be so happy then. That's what kept me going, the excitement that I had my unit fixed and ready to go.

Well, its May 28th now and mad because I've heard nothing and its been 22 days, that's a long ways from 2 days.So I called them again. When Clyde got on the phone he said, " well hey there, we were just talking about your unit" . Oh really I said, I hope its good, he said we'd like to get it back to you, I replied oh great, when? He said, let me call you back in 5 minutes.

I got a phone call from Christian and he said he'd like to get it back to me tomorrow, May 29th. Great what time? What did you get done I asked? He said they made alot of progress, what do you mean progress I asked.

He said they made alot of progress getting parts numbers. So what did you do to it? Nothing we made so much progress getting parts numbers though. I was mentally exhausted, physically exhausted, hot, dirty, hungry, sleeping in my car, was literally homeless for 23 days because of them and they did nothing to it what so ever!.

I couldn't believe I was hearing that, I said bring it tomorrow at 1 and i will meet you at the campground. They called my son, not me, and told him they were going to be there a little late because they had to clean out my refrigerator/ freezer because it was full of food that spoiled. They made it sound like they were doing me a favor. When they were coming down the road, I heard them before I seen them and watched them pull my RV down the road with the under belly of it dragging on the road.

The driver parked it and apologized to me. I could tell he felt bad, but I could smell something, it was strong and really bad smelling, he then gave me a bug bomb/ deodorizer and said Clyde told him to give it to me, I doubt it will work, .but you can try it. I opened up my unit, was about puking because it stunk horrible, I can't even explain the smel!, My RV was infested with maggots. He said they wore something like a gas mask when they cleaned the fridge out it was so bad.

I went and got more bombs, carpet cleaner, bleach spray, deodorizer , vinegar, and 10 boxes of baking soda. For a straight 48 hours 3 of us vacuumed maggots and bleached and scrubbed the whole unit. There was larve, cocoons, maggots and flies everywhere. I spent hundreds of dollars washing every single pillow, blanket, sheet, curtains, clothing etc at the laundry mat that was in here.

We didn't stop to sleep because it was so gross we couldn't sleep in it if we wanted to. They never plugged it in like they said they would. They obviously never went anywhere near it or it would have been able to get that bad! I lost so much food to.

Its been almost two months, I still have the smell, I still have maggots, I find cocoons and larve still. They're in the walls of the fridge in the insulation to I've been told by a pest control place I called and asked them why and where are they coming from. Well, I'm living in this, I hate it, I'm so tired if fighting with Campers Inn, they are rude and mean to me. My little dog got maggots under her skin from most likely sitting or laying where there was some large or an infected fly gave it to her on an open scratch or wound and the maggots were all over her under her skin.

I noticed something on her about 18 days after the camper was brought back to me. I don't have anyone but myself and they know this. I don't know what to do, I paid for that extended warranty, I had plans, but I have a camper with maggots, tape for seals, the under belly still hanging, and more. And I paid a lot of money for it.

I hope you can understand what I've said, its hard for me to type and its very painful to do so as well, I tried to make a long story short and I hope I didn't confuse you trying to do so. I've had tears the size of walnuts rolling down my face as well while writing this. But anyways, the pain has become to much I must stop here.

DO NOT BUY FROM CAMPERS INN OF OCALA they've ruined my camper, my dreams, and my life!

The RV is ruined, there's no way I can live in herd with the disgusting smell and maggots, they will not do anything for me either! I don't want it anymore!

Total price or a different unit should be given to me, They did this!!!

The #4 photo is today, 2 months after Campers Inn returned my RV. It clearly shows the larve and maggots fermenting (Thats how I describe it) on the top of my refrigerator, the larve is so hard, I have removed probably 3 inches deep by 10 inches wide of larve. Its hard to remove. It reminds me of rock candy, really hard!

) Again, this is because they didn't have it 2 days with it plugged in, like they said, they had it 23 days not plugged in and never went anywhere near it until they could smell it. I deal with maggots, larve, cocoons and flies everyday, its inhumane! My camper was spotless when it was left in there posession! I'm sick, It stinks, and Im afraid to eat anything out of my refrigerator or freezer!

What rights do I have? Please!

Bad experience for last 4 months

Horrible past 4 months. We purchased a brand new (leftover) FR3 from Campers Inn in Merrimack and have had significant problems since day 1.

We believe that the RV sat on the premise for an extended time and didn't have any maintenance, then we paid for Peace of Mind package- 995$ that includes a 225 point inspection to fix any manufacturing issues. This clearly wasn't done correctly! We have had at least 5 leaks with water damage. They 'fixed' one leak only to have it leak again with the next rain storm.

Our bathroom is ruined from water damage. I can see the outside from 2 areas in the slides! There's no consistent communication; service stinks and they think it is okay to ignore customers.

They're not truthful nor knowledgeable; go elsewhere!! Even the GM, Gregg doesn't follow through with communication or issues.

Resolved: Disappointed DELIVERY OF A NEW SOLITUDE

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. They called me after coorporate read my review and agreed to pay half

Original review Sep 10, 2024
We just purchased our 3rd Grand Design RV from George, who has always been a pleasure to work with. We just spent $100,000 on a brand new Solitude that, when it was delivered, looked worse than the unit I brought in for trade.

It was oxidized from the sun, had black streak marks down all four sides, and we spent the entire day there to let them try to make it right. The pressure washer made it worse with water spots as I drove off the lot, extremely disappointed! I spent another $1,150 on a mobile detailer for detailing/waxing to make it look the way it should have. I even had it in writing that the camper was supposed to be fully detailed upon delivery.

Their excuse was their detailer was out sick. As a business, they had the opportunity to bring a mobile detailer of their choice, to their business, to deliver a quality product to their customer. They had it for two weeks before delivery and that is inexcusable. I tried to give them one more opportunity to make this right with receipts and photos for the expense of detailing.

Both service managers, Christian and Clyde, delivered another disappointment. Once again, Christian never responded after several emails and Clyde said he can't help or pay for my detail that was promised by contract and never delivered.

I won't get into all the other issues we are experiencing with missing parts and failing to deliver a product for another Piece of Mind service we paid for. George E.

Great sales until purchase is complete then, disaster.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Bought a brand new camper here. $48,000 was the price.

By the time it was over I had financed 52,500 and placed a down payment for 6,000 for a total of 58,500. Why did I allow them to do this to me? Because, Im having this very large camper placed at a location permanently by a for hire driver and the salesman assured me that if I had any problems they would come to my camper on location and take care of me. The first day I get my camper parked the 3rd A/C goes out then the hot water heater.

I call and email them for 2 weeks. Finally, get on the phone with Tina and she tells me I can pay for the repairs myself and have some guy who doesnt work from them fix it then try to claim it on the warranty company myself or. I COULD CALL CAMPING WORLD AND THEY MIGHT BE WILLING TO COME OUT AND FIX IT. Ive taken a few days to make sure Im not over reacting but, this is wrong.

I was lied too, taken for $10,000 and the given the runaround. Im upset and I have every single right to be. Mr. Salesman Ill be taking my drive up to your store to sit in your office very soon.

This needs to be fixed or Ill post and report this store to every app and person I can find.

Update: They told me they wouldnt even consider fixing my camper if this review stayed here. I agree to remove the review and replace with a 5 star review if the issues with my camper were fixed. That wasnt good enough for them. All this took place a month ago so, it would seem I will be paying for repairs on a brand new camper out of pocket.

Im still in shock as to how fast the customer service goes from 5 star to 0 stars once they have your money.

I guess they got what they wanted so, they dont need to conduct themselves professionally anymore. Disappointing

Worst workplace I’ve ever worked at

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Do not buy your RV here. I am a former employee.

Management has no work ethic whatsoever. I was an employee at Dylan's RV Center and was never treated with such disrespect. I've experienced their *** towards customers and employees. Anything to get you to sign on the dotted line.

For example, they offer an ECO option (ceramic coating to protect against elements better than wax and lasts for five years. Very expensive, minimum price is $5000). There was a unit brought to me (the detailer) at the last minute the day before the customer arrived from the Midwest. They forgot it needed an ECO and there was no time to do the work.

I was told to look the other way and they passed it off as done. They lied and ripped the customer off completely. I regret not speaking up at the time, I needed my job. That is how management does business there.

Many other shady things go on to get the sale.

Also, management treats employees like *** under their shoe. Buyers beware!

I talked a friend of mine into buying an RV because we are of retirement age and I have one. He chose Campers Inn of Raleigh which is in Selma NC.

He spent $100,000 of his retirement money on a 2020 Zion in Feb. 2024 and hasn't been able to go camping yet. First issue was the battery was bad and it wouldn't start the first week and they wanted to charge him to replace it, the previous owner had a new one in the back and now we know why. That shows their so called "inspections".

He made plans to go on vacation and decided to try the A/C out and within 1 hour everything 110 volt quit. I helped him check all fuses and breakers out so he wouldn't have to take it back. He ended up calling them and made an appointment to have them check it out. They had it for a week saying th inverter was bad and they had to order it and he tried calling 4+ times trying to find out something so he could make plans for the following week to go one vacation and no one would answer the phone or call him back after leaving messages every time he called.

He finally had to drive there and went inside and called while he was inside and 4 people standing at the desk wouldn't answer the phone. He had to go to the desk to ask them if their phone was broke and they said no. The lady at the desk said they would get it in and have it ready by Friday so he waited and on Friday she called him and said she had bad news "the inverter we ordered was defective and we have to order another one from Canada". They would have it Monday and call him the next day.

Went all week without hearing from them and on Thursday they called him and said the place in Canada wouldn't ship them another one till they sent the defective one back for them to check for themselves and talking about it taking 1 to 2 more weeks. "That's between them and the company they ordered it from, not the RV owner" He told them he had had enough and wanted his money back. He went there the next morning requesting to get his money back and just forget about it. The "big wheel" whoever he is informed him that wasn't happening that he had already paid for the RV, and he bought it with cash by the way.

I can tell you right now that he and I are at the retirement age and have plenty of friends that are also and there is NO WAY IN *** this business will sell one RV to anyone of them or anyone else that we can get this story out to! I've heard stories about other RV selling companies but I promise you CAMPERS INN OF RALEIGH WHICH IS IN SELMA NC IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE AND UNCARING PEOPLE AFTER THE SELL, THE DAY AFTER!

Poor customer service They never return your calls

Bought a brand-new camper, needed a couple of items fixed and parts ordered. Once they got our money, they never called us.

We had to call to schedule pick up of the unit which was never prepped for pick up. Now that we've received the unit, we can't get them to return our calls on where the missing items are. After three months, we got the BBB involved and finally got a call back that some parts are in and some are due shortly.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy from here. Once they get your check, they could care less about you or your camper problems.

Pricing changes once you get a contract

Dealing with Campers Inn in Mesa, AZ seemed like a great deal due to the advertised price. They advertised a great sale, until you get to the end of the contract and they add $5k to the deal.

What's the addition for? Oh, you have to pay for the shipping they paid for to get the RV to their lot.

What? Isn't that false advertising if that's part of the price?

Paid $211,000.00 cash for my Air stream Interstate 2024 19 RV delivered. It arrived this past December with multiple defects, could not use it at all.

After 6 weeks in for repairs, we finally got it back. Tried to arrange for some form of compensation ie exchange, refund, rebate none at all. Contacted BBB lodged my complaint. It was accepted.

No response from Campers Inn Rv to this day. Buyer beware of this bunch.

Hi Robert, We are very sorry about your experience. Campers inn had replied to your BBB complaint and it was closed out by them as well as several conversations with our management team to try and resolve this for you.

It is our understanding that you have taken your RV to Optimum RV to address the issues that you are having with your camper and if they are unable to help we suggest reaching out to the maniufacturer s they are the ones that built it.

At this time we have done everything according to manufacturer guidelines. If you are in need of further assistance please contact us at any time.

Bad Customer Service Broken Glass

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Campers Inn - Bad Customer Service Broken Glass

We purchased an Airstream from campers inn about two weeks ago. We have not camped in this used airstream yet but my husband cleaned and walbernizing the unit found a pile of broken glass and a window not properly in the tracks.

This window had clearly been broken and replaced by the previous owners and was left a mess with water leaking down to the floor. We also found out that they did not clean out the tanks. My husband had to clean out another persons fesces from the gray and black water tanks.

The store is refusing to take care of this and the broken glass could have injured one of my children or dogs. Unacceptable behavior from a "family owned business".

Had my motorhome there on several occasions for leaking jack after hundreds of dollars for repair still had issue. Their service dept is terrible.

Too many horror stories to share but I will never go to them again. I was told my slides were not working (they worked when I dropped it off) After 2 days I contacted them and they said they couldn't get it started to move it into their secured area. They jumped the battery . After having it for a month they hardwired the slides because I had a trip planned. When I got there to pick it up for my trip they had to jump the battery to bring it out to me. I turned the engine off and it wouldn't start.

again, so I looked under the hood to discover that one of the battery cables was loose. (hmm, wouldn't you think that they should have looked at that before jumping it?) I had a technician (I use that term loosely) tighten the cable and all was good. After my trip I dropped it off again. and after a month, many phone calls and going to corporate they told me they had spent many hours tracing the wiring and could not find anything. Finally they determined it was a fuse Wouldn't you think a reputable service tech would check the fuses first.

This is just a small sample of what I delt with. Also never a call from them.

Left messages and no call backs only time I got any answers was when I made the 20 minute drive to them. Location is Toms River, nj

Saw a class B that we were interested in buying. Talked to Steve about paying cash.

Steve informed us that the advertised list price is based on a loan and not cash. Therefore, he added $5000 to the sale price since we were paying cash. We called him out and showed him the listed price on the internet.

He said that he's sure there's a disclaimer somewhere that states the cost would be more. I called him out, and he changed the subject, so I walked out without saying a word.

Sales manager used F word AT customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have a Campers Inn within 10 miles of my house. I found the vehicle that I wanted but it was located 1000 miles away, in the Selma North Carolina office.

We made a deal on my trade, but they would not let me bring it to the facility 10 miles from my house. They wanted me to drive 1000 miles to deliver it to them, so I agreed. They then wanted me to come earlier than my appointment time so they could review my trade-in. I was there two hours early and they took my trade to inspect, but would not let me see my vehicle I planned to purchase because they were cleaning it.

I told them I just wanted a quick look, but they refused. The sales manager, then came over to me, but he did not introduce himself, and I did not know what his position was. He told me that I would have to wait and then use the F word with me because I complain that I accommodated them by driving and I accommodated them by coming early.

Pretty inexcusable. He never apologized.
